The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling PMA parts and MLA assemblies. Along with helping produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.

Essential Functions:


? Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.


? Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.


? Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.


? Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.


? Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources


? Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.?


? All other duties as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities:


? Plans machining by studying shop orders, design drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).?


? Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.?


? Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three/four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock pushers, and indicating vices.


? Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to all regulatory standards.?


? Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality procedures and processes.


Assembler

? Minimum of 1 year in assembling for aerospace/technical industry


? Minimum of 1 year in CNC programming and machining


? Must have knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures and other accessories used on various machines.


? Technically oriented and can read prints/drawings


? Dexterous and can assemble per instructions


? Organized to keep track in inventory and notify of safety stock


? Demonstrates a basic knowledge of G and M codes


? Carefully follows directions and procedures given


? Maintains shop cleanliness and tooling inventory?


Skills:


? Experience with CAD/CAM to develop machining programs.


? Experience operating and maintaining machining equipment.


? Strong knowledge of GD&T, Metallurgy, ASME Standards and G-code.


? Ability to read and use measuring tools to maintain tolerances.


? Experience with general software (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).


? Requires the ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing.


Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.


Ability to lift 50Ibs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
