Reporting to the Vice President of Transportation Services, the Intermodal/Harbor Dispatcher is a key player in moving shipping containers from port and rail to destination with both Company Drivers and Independent Contract Drivers.
Teamwork, Adaptability, and Attention to Detail will make you the right person to take on this new challenge. Dispatchers rotate shifts supporting a 24-hour operation. Links needs a Drayage Dispatch Pro with the will and the skill.
Responsibilities:
Dispatch trucks for port and rail pickups and destination deliveries
Work within customer requirements, DOT regulations, and Links Logistics standards
Utilize various internet portals related to terminal operations and eModal transactions
REQUIREMENTS:
Prior dispatch experience related to the Ports and rail of LA and Long Beach mandatory
Knowledge of port and rail terminal operations and related dray carrier requirements to ensure compliance
Ability to solve problems and issues with bookings or related matters to ensure customer requirements are met and productivity goals are met or exceeded
Experience Dispatching both Company and Independent Contract Drivers
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team skills
Thorough understanding of DOT and Port/Rail regulations
Solid computer skills for dispatch operations, research, paperwork, reporting, and general communication
Self-starter - motivated and able to set priorities and meet established deadlines independently at night
Strong organizational skills to ensure proper documentation management
